cant believe i have never come across this before, but i just found this searchable list of indie craft shows — including canadian events (which seems rare)
including a reminder that this weekend coming up is the City of Craft show in toronto. amazing artist, amazing location. if you still havent found that perfect gift for the hard-to-shop-for sister, or the mother-in-law-who-has-everything this will be the place to find it
dont miss your chance to shop from over 40 artist and enjoy the wonderful outdoor setting that fall brings. Saturday November 7th is the annual Frederick Art Walk, and this year they have twice as many artists involved. myself of course will be selling at 21 Samuel st, but new this year is the KidKraft group. Children of the arists got together to make gift items of their own like cards, wrap, tags and ornaments to sell. in good holiday cheer they will then donate all their sales to cancer research. i had to choke back a tear when i heard the oldest child talking about their decision, and her explanation for the younger kids as to what cancer was — and that one day there will be a cure.
join the facebook event to meet the artists, or check out the shows site
many wonderful and talented artists have gotten together to offer studio and home tours… and you get to shop from their goodies too!!
this weekend is the Kissing Bridge Studio Tour around Elmira, West Montrose and Wallenstein.
(on their site is a list of the artists, the brochure and a map — across the top)
This year’s Christmas Market is set to go for Saturday November 21, 2009, 9:00 to 1:00. We will be opening up the upper hall as well this year to accomodate more tables. Please confirm your intention to participate as soon as possible to make sure you have a space.
Spaces are $10/spot plus a $2 table rental if you choose to use our tables.
More advertising has been booked to support the event.
If you would like your particular business’s name mentioned in any ads we ask that you donate a craft item to a raffle being held to benefit the church. Larger items will be sold by silent auction, also to benefit the church.
Thanks , looking forward to hearing from you!
…if you wish to participate contact Jean and Lynn at the Church of the Good Shepherd,

(i participated in this show last year. there is a mix of vendors as it is a small show. great for beginners and thats why i personally went… to get some experience under my belt at a really low cost. but then again, a great fee is good for anyone. the more great artist we have, the more shoppers we could pull in, and the more income we will all make. either way… UROCK will be there. hope to see you too)
Waterloo has made me an incredible offer, and im giddy with glee. but it means nothing if i dont have your support, and participation.
the deal: Run an art market outdoors every Saturday from May thru September called ART LOOP
it will not only be an imadeit event but a Waterloo way of life. it will be marketed larger than we ever have; street banners, tourism guide… etc. along with the artisans we will include vintage/antique vendors. as usual we will include musicans, either every weekend or once a month. but i dont think we will have trouble finding music.
the place: the space beside the Clay and Glass Gallery is screaming for funky unique vendors amongst the trees + flowers. if you are not familiar with the area… right across the street (towards red trees on left) is the Waterloo Library; to the right (behind the clock tower) is the new Waterloo Town Square; behind me is the old train that runs from Waterloo to St. Jacobs; on the far right (out of the shot) is the Seagrams Museum.
But without the talents of all you fabulously creative vendors, this will not work. i would like to know if running the art market every weekend is too much. please let me know by answering the poll below….
Elmira has added handmade to their downtown with the creation of an indoor market. They run every Saturday, and you can have a table for a mere $20. The market has been open since May 16 and is a work in progress.
